Actability is an inclusive, integrated theatre company formed in 2005 to create and provide drama workshops and touring shows. To date, we have completed six tours to theatres, schools and day centres. The company has created a variety of shows, including adaptations of  Romeo and Juliet and Macbeth. Associates of the company have written two original texts being Behind the Mask and Down To Earth.

The casts of our shows are chiefly people with a learning disability working alongside non disabled performers.

With over thrity members attending our weelky workshop, the profile of Acatability is growing. We also provide weekly social skills based drama in a variety of settings.

Recently, the company succeeded in securing funding from Arts Council Engalnd which is for the research and development phase of our brand new multicultural piece featuring dance, puppetry amd live music. This work will be touring theatres and schools in Spring, 2009.

Actability are delighted to be associated with I Am Not An I at the Rosemary Branch Theatre. This is an intriguing and outstanding piece of theatre from our great friend Stephen M. Hunt and we wish it every success. We see our involvement with this play as our first step outside the disability arts arena as well as an opportunity for further inclusive work.

Stephen has written an excellent show for us called Problem Day which will become our community show next year to be followed by a series of tours. There i s definitely more to come from our partnership with Stephen so we would advise you to  watch this space!
